Post Doc Requirement in University College Dublin

Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Researcher School of Chemistry. 
The Centre for BioNano Interactions is pioneering new techniques and approaches at the research interface between nanoscale science and living systems, with applications in the biomedical arena. CBNI is looking for a Post- Doctoral Researcher with research experience in any relevant arena of nanoscale synthesis, physical, biophysical, or relevant (for example exosome) biosciences. It would be an advantage to have advanced skills in nanoparticle characterization with established physicochemical and biophysical methodologies, microfluidic synthesis or detection, or other related skills.

Salary: €36,854 - €37,383 /annum.
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry http://www.sdstate.edu/chem/ at South Dakota State University http://www.sdstate.edu/ offers the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in chemistry with tracks in chemistry and biochemistry.
Students can be admitted into the program with either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry. Because many research projects are inter-disciplinary or trans-disciplinary in nature, students with prior training in areas such as biology, environmental science, geology, mathematics or physics are strongly encouraged to apply for admission.
Research Programs
The Department’s graduate research programs fall into three thematic interdisciplinary focus areas: biochemistry with an emphasis on biophotonics/biophysical chemistry, environmental chemistry, geochemistry and green chemistry, and chemical education. Within these interdisciplinary focus areas, students can select research projects within the traditional subdisciplines of chemistry; analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic and physical.
Currently active research groups are in drug discovery and delivery, organic synthesis, materials chemistry and self-assembly, chromatography, cell signaling, environmental chemistry of organic contaminants, chemistry of climate change, photochemistry, natural products chemistry, biosensor development, biophysical chemistry, computational chemistry, and solid-state NMR.

Research Instrumentation
The Department is equipped with modern core instrumentation facilities to support its research program including the Core campus NMR facility, Core campus mass spectrometry facility and Core campus proteomics facility.

Salary Level A (Completed PhD):A$74,129 - A$79,288 per year (plus 17% employer superannuation and leave loading)
A full time position is available for an experienced research scientist with skills in solid state NMR spectroscopy. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the University-wide NMR Facility, which has recently implemented ARC funding for a major initiative in solid-state NMR spectroscopy.
The appointee will consolidate advanced solid state NMR spectroscopic techniques to enable research in the areas of molecular & life sciences, medicine, materials and engineering within UNSW and with partner organisations, and train research staff and students in these areas of specialization.
A relocation package is available for an overseas or inter-state candidate.
This is a fixed term, full time position for a period of three years.
