For the academic year 2012/2013, SISSA offers the possibility of obtaining the Ph.D. degree in the following fields:  Applied Mathematics (4 positions)  Astroparticle Physics (4 positions)  Astrophysics (5 positions)  Functional and Structural Genomics (7 positions)  Geometry (4 positions)  Mathematical Analysis (4 positions)  Mathematical Physics (4 positions)  Cognitive Neuroscience (6 positions)  Neurobiology (7 positions)  Physics and Chemistry of Biological Systems (4 positions)  Statistical Physics (5 positions)  Theory and Numerical Simulation of Condensed Matter (6 positions)  Theory of Elementary Particles (5 positions) The School offers grants (currently € 1.135,00 net/month approximately), depending on the amount of funds available, to students who have made a specific request in the online application. The grant is awarded for three years, extendable for a fourth year subject to approval by the School authorities. A contribution towards living expenses of the amount of € 1.200,00 gross per year will also be awarded to those who will submit a regular rental contract.
