K. C. Mahindra Trust offers scholarships for Indian students to pursue postgraduate studies in foreign Universities or Institutions, 2012 in Engineering,Natural Sciences, Humanities,Medicine and Business Management including the study of military and Naval and Aviation Sciences


Eligibility-He/She is required to possess a First Class degree or an equivalent diploma of similar standard of a recognized Indian University.

Scholarship Description: The K.C. Mahindra Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies Abroad awards an interest-free loan of up to Rs. 200,000 to deserving graduates who are interested in pursuing advanced studies overseas. Initiated in 1956, preference is given to students interested in pursuing subjects which are not readily accessible in India. Candidates must possess a First Class Degree and be admitted to a foreign university. The selection is announced in leading newspapers across India every January.In the year 2010, the trust announced the KC Mahindra Fellows Fund where the 3 most deserving candidates selected are awarded an interest free loan scholarship ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 8 lakhs, based on merit and need. Govt. and Quasi-Govt. officers with a creditable academic record, going abroad for specialised qualification are also eligible to apply.

Mission

The Medical University of Graz offers a PhD Program in Neurosciences. The program provides cutting-edge education with respect to the molecular basis of human diseases and therapeutics. The thesis projects focus on various aspects of neurological and cerebrovascular diseases, ageing of the brain and neurodegeneration, and integrate basic, applied and clinical sciences, as well as a wide spectrum of experimental techniques.
Admitted PhD students receive funding for three years. Applicants must hold a Master´s degree or equivalent in Medicine, Chemistry or Life Sciences. English is the language used for teaching, communication and writing of the Thesis and thus, excellent English skills are required.

Research Fellow in Physical Organic Chemistry


University of Leeds requires a PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, and an excellent post-doctoral research track record (within academia and/or industry), you will be required to develop an internationally recognised research portfolio at the interface between chemistry and chemical process engineering within your field. Exemplar areas of research expertise of potential interest to the Institute of Process Research and Development (iPRD) include physical organic chemistry, flow chemistry, green process technology, the study of new/complex chemical or physical phenomena. You will work collaboratively with scientists across the disciplines within iPRD, the School of Chemistry and the School of Process Environment and Materials Engineering (SPEME) and your work will make a significant contribution to iPRD�s performance, stature and profile.
The post is funded by the University of Leeds Transformation Fund. Your academic development will be supported by a structured mentoring and academic development programme delivered by senior academic staff in both the the School of Chemistry and SPEME. From the beginning of the academic year 2011/2012, Faculty of Science launches a new PhD support program for talented students from all over the world. Prospective students can apply to PhD research topics selected by the Research Council of the Faculty and announced on the web pages on February 1, 2012. In addition to standard PhD scholarship obtained from the Ministry of Education (in the first year 6,050 CZK per month), applicants selected for the STARS program will be awarded additional 10,000 CZK or more per month.

Applicants for IRENA’s Scholarship Programme will be admitted in accordance to the academic standards and regulations of Masdar Institute. Out of those who passed, IRENA will select the winning candidates in accordance with additional criteria that can be found in this document or on IRENA’s
website.
IRENA MSc Scholars are required to join a renewable energy related research project for the duration of their scholarship. Upon the commencement of each semester, during the orientation week, MASDAR Institute will inform all new students about the current research projects. Out of these projects IRENA scholars shall select a renewable energy topic related to any of the six renewable energy sources that IRENA is mandated to work on, namely: Biomass, Geothermal, Hydro, Ocean, Solar, and Wind. Moreover, the final thesis shall be written on a renewable energy related topic.
While IRENA scholars will benefit from the additional services offered by IRENA, they still must adhere to MASDAR Institute’s policies and procedures, as set out in the MASDAR Institute’s Student Academic Handbook.
During the two years Programme at MASDAR Institute, IRENA’s MSc scholars will work on a research project relevant to renewable energies and can select between eight MSc Programmes. The study is completed with a Master thesis.

Eligibility
Submit your application, if you comply with the following MASDAR Institute criteria:
Relevant undergraduate degree from a college, university or technical college of acceptable standing in the field of science, engineering or information technology
Minimum CGPA required: 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
Competence in spoken and written English. Minimum TOEFL score: 91 (IBT) on the international TOEFL. Minimum academic IELTSscore: 6.5.
Minimum GRE quantitative score: 700(or 155 on the new scale) .
Academic record and credentials must indicate the ability to achieve distinction
And the following IRENA criteria:
Desired specialisation within the chosen MSc programme.
Description of knowledge already acquired in the field of renewable energies and relevant previous professional engagements or experience.
In case of equal aptitude, priority access will be given to applicants from Developing Countries.

electronically. All required proofs and certificates have to be sent to MASDAR Institute. A list of the required documents can be found on MASDAR Institute’s website.
Important: Please note that you have to indicate your interest in an IRENA Scholarship on Masdar Institute online application form by activating the appropriate box. Otherwise you will apply for a common MASDAR scholarship and you will not be able to benefit from IRENA’s Lecture Programme and other advantages.
